Lenten Retreat Deemed Success as 70 College-Age Students Experience Spiritual Healing

During the first weekend of Lent, Fr. Mark McCormick invited students from area Newman Centers to encounter our Eucharistic Lord. The retreat, entitled “By His Wounds We are Healed,” was held at Terra Sancta under the priestly direction of the Servants of the Pierced Heart. Attendees gathered together to pray and worship Our Lord in a profound way — and away from the hustle and bustle of academic life. Catholic university students included those from the Rapid City Catholic Newman Center, BHSU Newman Center, Newman House at Chadron State College, and Dickinson Catholic Campus Ministry. Talks were based on Isaiah 53:5 to deepen their understanding that Christ’s death brings salvation to all who trust in Him. We welcomed over 70 students who participated in Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, Reconciliation, and talks.
